The Beautiful Bluebonnets!
I've always loved when the beautiful bluebonnets and wildflowers bloom in Texas. When you drive down the highway, it is wonderful to see such a beautiful sight. So, since Braden has been born I've been excited to take pictures in the bluebonnets. I finally got my opportunity this weekend, when Mike and I drove to Canyon Lake for the weekend. We find an absolutely beautiful field with tons of bluebonnets. Mike was a little embarassed at first, but finally settled down and we got some wonderful shots! Enjoy!

Too Big for the Sink!
This Sunday, Braden finally became a little too big for me to bathe him in the kitchen sink. :( He had gotten to the point where he was standing up in the sink and splashing water everywhere in the kitchen. So, I figured it was time to move him to the big boy bathtub! However, I wasn't quite ready for him to sit in the really big boy bathtub, so Cody and Devon suggested we transition him to the ducky they used for Dylan. It was a success! It is much more roomy for him than the sink and will get him used to the real bathtub. He also can splash around all he wants now that he is in the bathtub, so this should be very fun for him! The nose even quacks when you squeeze it...how cute is that! So, no more sink baths for Braden...he's growing up so fast!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Today was my 27th Birthday! I can't believe it....27! Thanks to my husband, the day started out wonderfully relaxing. We went and got a massage together. It was a nice way to start the day! It pretty much poured the entire day, so it was a great day to just stay inside and relax. We did make it out to lunch at Black Walnut Cafe and then out to dinner with the family at Carraba's. We had a wonderful waiter that Braden was just fascinated with. He kept waving at him and the table behind us. The real reason I thought the waiter was wonderful was because of the awesome dessert he gave me (with a candle on top!). The usually give you vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce, which don't get me wrong, is wonderful! But, this was a triple chocolate cake, which was AWESOME! After dinner, my mom picked up my cake from Coldstone (cheesecake with sprinkles, YUMMY!) and our friends Cody, Devon, their little one, Dylan, Cedric, and Brigette came over to help celebrate and watch the UFC fight (which was terrible!). I got some wonderful presents- the Fray CD, concert tickets to see the Fray (yeah!), a new purse, a sewing machine, sewing kit, a great Willow Tree figurine, and a 6-pack of Boulevard beer, which I can finally find in Texas! Thank you everyone for such a wonderful birthday!

Braden's First Haircut
Mike and I both needed haircuts, so we headed to see Rachel at Visible Changes at the Woodlands Mall today (4/17/09). While we were waiting we were both looking at Braden's hair and finally gave in and decided he needed a haircut too. His hair is starting to grow over his ears and the back is kinda looking like a mullet. Luckily, Rachel could fit him in right after Mike and I. He was such a good boy too! He is a little nosey, so he followed every move Rachel made, and that made it a little tough to cut his hair, but he wasn't scared at all. Rachel said the "haircut" was more of a necktrim, since she didn't cut that much! Below is a picture of our little guy after his first "haircut"!
Easter 2009
We had our first Easter with Braden this year! I was so excited to pick out his Easter basket for the Easter bunny to come fill. I decided on a cute Pottery Barn basket and then picked out some adorable fabric and had a liner made for it.
The Easter bunny hopped on over and filled Braden's basket with a toy hammer, bubbles, Puffs, carrots (in baby food form!), his very own remote control (in hopes he would obsess over that one and not the one we actually use!), and some very cute bunny ears! He also received baskets from each of his grandparents, filled with toys and clothes.
I also set up an Easter Egg hunt in the house for Mike and Braden. After rummaging through the Easter baskets, we started out the day with a wonderful breakfast of sausage egg casserole, fruit salad, cinnamon roles, and mimosas. Yummy! We then just hung out and relaxed until our next meal. :) We had originally planned to make filets on the grill, but the forecast called for rain the whole day, so we changed our plans and made prime rib. My mom and I have mastered making prime rib, so it turned out great! Along with that, we had mixed veggies and hollandaise sauce and great twice-baked potatoes my mom made. For dessert, we had chocolate cream pie and coconut pie. I unfortunately had to enjoy my Easter meal the day after....we passed the stomach bug around the house, so while the family ate dinner, I was actually sleeping in bed! :) We finished the day with a great visit from Cody, Devon, and Dylan. Dylan's birthday party was the day before and they were trying out the new bike trailer (or whatever you call it!) they received. They ate some pie with us and visited then rode back home. Hope you enjoy the pics of Braden's first Easter!

A Night Full of Teething
Well, as of today, Braden is in full-fledged teething mode. Our night started out GREAT! We went to our friend's, Cody and Devon, house for dinner. Braden and Dylan were crawling all around having a blast. I thought....this is good! Braden is going to wear himself out! He ate his dinner great too. Well, he feel asleep while we were visiting, we got him home, put him down. Great so far!! Unfortunately, in the middle of the night he woke up screaming. I thought he was hungry, so I fed him...that didn't do the trick. He wouldn't settle down the entire night....poor baby. I then remembered what I pointed out to everyone a few hours prior. That you could definitely see a bump where a tooth is about to poke through. It's the lower left tooth. We tried giving Braden Tylenol to ease the pain, but he was already too worked up. Mommy got puked on. Finally, I got the Orajel....and that did the trick. But, I am now extremely tired because no one got any sleep! Hopefully soon, this will be over with and I will have a new picture of Braden to post with his new tooth! Until then, I've posted just another picture of my cute little Braden!

Pulling Up on Everything!
Now that Braden can crawl, he has also found that he can pull himself up....on EVERYTHING! He can walk along the couch, pull himself up on the tables, or his favorite-- pull himself up on mom and dad, which mom absolutely loves! I don't think it will be too much longer before he realizes he can stand, and then walk. I can't believe he is so big and has accomplished so much, especially since he's had an ear infection through all of this. He simply amazes me everyday!

Braden Can Crawl!
We finally have a little crawler on our hands! At seven months, Braden has begun crawling. He has picked it up quite easily, I think the walker we had him in since he was 4 months really helped out. It made him realize he didn't need to be carried everywhere to get around. Braden crawling really keeps mom and dad on their toes though ;). His favorite places to crawl are in the kitchen to the animal's water bowl...he loves to place each hand in and out of there. He also makes his way to the utility room, which we try to steer him clear of because that is where the litter box is. Another one of his favorites is Mike's guitar. He knows exactly where they are kept...one in the flex room and one in Mike's office. Mom and Dad are getting lots of exercise chasing and redirecting him around the house. It's been so much fun to watch him crawl faster and faster!
